Dear Esteemed Members and Professional Colleagues,



We have celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our great nation, BHARAT. It is with immense pride and patriotism that I pen down this message for the month of August. As we come together, draped in the tricolour spirit, it's a time to respect our history, appreciate the present and be hopeful of a brighter future having completed 78 years of Independence.



Meeting with General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram



We appraised the Hon’ble Governor regarding the EIRC activities and also appraised about the Investor Awareness Programme held in Aizal on 1st September 2025.



Work Life Balance – To have a proper balance in Professional and Personal Life, Seminars on Work Life Balance are organised. One such Seminar organised in the month of August on 17th at Shree Parshvanath Digamber Jain “Upoban”, Belgachia. The Speaker was Jain Saint Acharya Shri 108 Pramukh Sagar Ji Maharaj



Celebration of 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025



The national tri colour was hosted at ICAI Bhawan, Russel Street.



Ek Ghanta Desh Ke Naam – The Members and Students participated in Ek Ghanta Desh Ke Naam through Poetry, Patriotic Songs & Recitations



A courtesy meeting with His Excellency Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur and Esteemed spiritual leader, Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj



The interaction focused on strengthening professional bond by fostering cultural and social engagement and exploring avenues to contribute meaningfully towards national development. The various initiatives of EIRC taken in this year were also informed to the Hon’ble Governor and Swamiji.



Updates at the Professional Forum -



On 8th August 2025 we had a courtesy meeting with Shri Mukesh Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Coal India Limited (CIL) and discussed on the role of Finance Professionals in the energy sector of India and the future ahead.



Education is the Root of a Developed Society – We Reinforce It



We had a courtesy meeting alongwith CA Durgesh Kabra, Council Member, ICAI and CA Sanjib Sanghi, Council Member, ICAI with -




  • Dr. Priyadarshini Mallik, Secretary, West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education

  • Dr. Ramanuj Ganguly, President, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education



The interaction focused on fostering stronger collaboration with key education stakeholders and exploring initiatives to enhance academic and professional synergy, with an EYE to contribute in educational growth.



CA P M Narielvala Memorial Lecture on 28th August 2025 – CA P M Narielvala Memorial Lecture was delivered by CA Dhanpat Ram Agarwal. The Keynote address was given by CA Ram Krishna Agrawal, Past Council Member, ICAI.



Distribution of Customised EIRC Official Directory - “My Directory” to all Committee members who are Co-opted and Special Invitees alongwith leaders of Study Circles, Study Chapters, Study Groups, Council Members, Past Presidents, Past Councils Members and Past Chairpersons of EIRC.



Conclave on IBC 4.0 – Reinforcing the Roots – The Conclave was organised under the aegis of Insolvency & Valuation Standards Board of ICAI on 30th August 2025 at Taj Bengal. The programme was inaugurated by Hon'ble Justice N Seshasayee, Hon'ble Member (Justice), NCLAT as Chief Guest. Others present were Shri Shiv Anant Shanker, CGM, IBBI, CA Gyan Chandra Misra, Chairman, I&VSB, ICAI and CA (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Past President, ICAI. The programme was attended by a galaxy of speakers like CA D. Arvind, Past Member, NCLT Kolkata Bench, CA Subodh Kr. Agrawal, Past President, ICAI, CA Sushil Kumar Goyal, Past Council Member, ICAI, Adv. Sumant Batra, Insolvency Lawyer, Shri Brajesh Kr. Singh, Executive Director, Indian Bank, Shri Sanjib Patwari, Promoter, Rashmi Group and others.
